Easter pictures- sorry there's so many!

We were in So. Utah this weekend for our Niece, Julia's baptism.  After the baptism, all the kids (at least 40) had an Easter egg hunt.  It was crazy.  The little kids got to go first and Nathan hit the jackpot!

Nathan was happy with his full basket of eggs, full of candy.  He wasted no time tearing into his eggs.  He was shoving handfuls of jelly beans into his mouth while I wastrying to take his picture.

After all the egg hunting, Nathan feel asleep as soon as we hit the road.  Hehas been sleeping like this lately- with his hands behind his head.  It's funny.  Below isthe picture of most of the kids in the Mathews family- minus a few in CA and a couplethat we couldn't get in the picture.

We went to Panaca for church on Easter and found more eggs that morning, hid by Nathan's cousins.  We pretty much ate candy for every meal for 2 days!  Nathan even tried eating a chocolate egg with the foil on it still.  Here's the picture we got on Easter Sunday of our little family.  It was a beautiful day in Panaca.  After church and some March Madness basketball games, we had a yummy Easter dinner with Chris' family.  Everyone came home except two of Chris' brothers.  There were 27 little kids running around and Nathan loved every min of it. He was right in the middle of the older boys' basketball game and they were nice enough to let him dunk the ball every now and then.  He was outside all afternoon and when it was time to leave, he cried so hard.  He is a country boy at heart and I wish we had the space for him to play outside.  At least we can visit the country when we go see both sets of Grandparents.

This was in St. George at my friend Jackie's house, with her son Milo (he and Nathan are only a few days apart).  Nathan was very happy to find a John Deer there and a huge yard with a trampoline, dune buggy, 4-wheelers, and a slide.  We couldn't get him to come inside, even when the sun went down!

Reasons why I suck!

I have been tagged a million times but I never take the time to do it, but with the encouragment from Allison, I guess I will share my 20 reasons why I suck!
1. I hate getting ready for the day; hate doing my hair and don't shower every day.
2. I would wear basketball shorts and a t-shirt every day if I could.
3. I love to spend money, and that's not always good for my budget or bank account.
4. I complain cause I don't have any clothes or shoes, but my closet if full of clothes I never wear.
5. I'm a major people pleaser and worry ALL the time about what people think of me.
6. I complain about living in Las Vegas all the time.
7. I complain about my little house with NO yard to everyone I know! Most of those people also live in a tiny house just like me and they have 2 or more kids!!
8. When I lay Nathan down for a nap, I turn on my favorite soap and eat chocolate! Then I wonder why I can't lose another 10-15 pounds!
9. I'm in the worst shape of my life and I have no motivation to do anything about it!
10. I am hiding all of Nathan's Easter candy from him so I can secretly eat most of it!
11. I will spend money to buy Nathan clothes and shoes so he can be well dressed, and I wear the same 3 outfits every week.
12. I never get out of bed in the morning to make Chris breakfast or lunch.
13. I'm pretty OCD about cords around my computer, crumbs on the counters, and my couch cushions.
14. I could eat chips and salsa for every meal.
15. I get really grouchy when I'm hungry.
16. I'm very short tempered. I used to teach PE and get so upset at my middle school students that I would kick balls and scream and yell and throw my clipboard all the time.
17. My heels are dry, cracked and annoy the crap out of me.
18. I hate vaccuming and make my husband do it every chance I get.
19. I'm really self-concious about all this stuff, but I have no problem admitting to the world all the reasons why I SUCK.
20. Isn't there something wrong with the fact that these are all true, and I don't do anything about it? I really do suck! Thanks Al, for pointing it out. Hope you got a good laugh!

Beautiful weather and Easter cookies

These past few days have been gorgeous and we enjoyed a day at the park yesterday.  I had some friends in town that we met up with and I got a couple cute shots of Nathan.  I also made some yummy Easter sugar cookies with my friend Emily the other day and they turned out so cute.  I just thought I'd share a picture of our masterpieces!

Visit from Grandma and Papa Swanemyr

This past week we've had some friends and family in town for the Construction Expo.  Really that was just the excuse to get my Dad here and bring my Mom.  Some wonderful friends were also in town for the same thing and we got together with them for dinner last Tues.  Let's just say, we have eaten well this past week, and I have gained a few pounds!  I was busy with the Relief Society Birthday party on Wed and Thurs, but having my mom here helped so much.  Along with some good friends in the ward who helped decorate and make food, it turned out great and was a lot of fun.  I'm just really glad it's over and I was able to enjoy a couple days with my parents here. On Friday my mom got her hair cut and then it was off to the mall for shopping, lunch and then to Town Square for more shopping and learning how to use our new computers at the Apple store.  My mom got a new Apple too, so we both have lots to learn.   Chris spent most of the weekend watching the Rebels win the Mountain West Conf. tourn with his brother Brent, who came to town too.  They went to the semi's and the championship where UNLV beat BYU and got an automatic bid to the "BIG DANCE"!!  I love this time of year.  We get pretty into the NCAA basketball tournament and it's fun cause Chris' family has a bracket competition online to see who can get the most pics right.  It's just for bragging rights, but I love competition and talking trash!  Anyways, Chris also got to go golfing with his brother and had a fun time trying to keep his ball out of the water!  The weekend with my parents went by too fast and now we're still trying to recover.  Nathan got very little sleep over the past few days and he's trying to catch up now.  Sorry, this ended up being a long story.  Enjoy the few pictures I got while we had so much fun this weekend.

More pictures from the park...

Just kidding!  I keep getting all these errors! This is so frustrating!  I haven't had any problems with this up until now and maybe I'm just retarded or I messed up something when I was trying to figure out how to make a cute new template!  I need HELP!!!

Day at the park...

Hello!  I have been having so many problems uploading pictures.  I don't know what I did, but here it goes again.  We had so much fun at the park yesterday.  It was beautiful and Nathan and I loved it!

Brittney's Wedding

The "Sista Soldiers"
Nathan with Ellie and Heidi
Brittney looked so pretty!

This weekend we went up to  Salt Lake for my old roommate Brittney's wedding.  We were roommates back in St. George at Dixie College our Freshman year.  It was one of the craziest, funniest, hardest years of college.  There were six of us, freshmen, in one little apartment and it was all of our first time living away from home.  We had our fights, but looking back it was a blast.  We went our separate ways after Dixie and I ended up in Las Vegas after graduating and lived with Brittney again.  I probably wouldn't have moved here if she wasn't here.  Anyways, she's been a great friend and I'm so happy for her.  She married a really great guy and I wish them all the best.
A bunch of our old roommates came to the wedding.  It was a fun reunion and amazing to see how many friends have kept in touch through the past 10 years.  I think it's because Brittney has been the glue that holds us all together.  It was so fun to see all of you girls.  Let's do it again sometime.  Brit, you need to have a baby now, so we have a good  excuse to get together again (j/k no pressure)!

Nathan's buddies

Ramsi is very excited to see Nathan

This weekend we went up to SLC for a wedding and we had time to meet up with some friends that moved from Las Vegas about 9 months ago- The Reeds and the Wildes.  Their kids are about the same age as Nathan and when they lived here we got together all the time and had lots of fun.  We've missed them very much since they moved and it was fun to see how their kids have grown up since then.  Lincoln is just one month younger than Nathan and Ramsi is two months younger.  It was fun to have lunch with them and catch up a little.  Thanks so much guys for meeting up with us.  It was great to see you.  Come down and visit us sometime!!
